FAQ - Read or submit your question on our Frequently Asked Questions page

Registration and sign-up: All registrations are ONLINE. You will create an online ID for yourself using your email address, and create your own password. Make sure you remember your password, it makes it much easier later. If you are having technical difficulties please contact one of our volunteer Board Members at the Clubhouse.

Costs: Costs vary per season and range from as low as $80 to as high as $100 per month. Some programs have a flat fee. PK Soccer kids might be as low as $50 per month. The City of Hollywood requires of all sports clubs to collect a non-resident fee for those players that do not reside within the City limits (verification required upon request). You will be charged an additional $20 non-resident fee if you do not live within the City limits.

Player Year of Birth divisions: The player’s birth date determines what age division he/she plays in. No players can play up or down. It’s all determined by the year they were born in. New US Soccer mandates were implemented starting with the Summer of 2016. Additionally, when we break teams into multiple ages (ie. U8, U10, U12, etc.) they might be the same “soccer age” for more than one year.

Equipment: All players must supply their own cleats, practice clothing, shin guards, and ball. The club provides jersey or complete uniform depending on the particular program.

Ball sizes for each age group: Soccer balls come in different sizes for each age group, and it’s important to buy the correct size ball for your child:

  • U8 players and younger use a Size 3 ball
  • U10 and U12 players use a Size 4 ball
  • U13 players and older use a Size 5 ball

Balls, shinguards, and practice jerseys are available for purchase at the concession stand. No shin guards = NO PLAY!

Professional Coaches and Volunteer Assistant Coaches

Coach Mauro Tavars, has an outstanding training program available for new and veteran coaches. Starting with Fall of 2019 all Hollywood Wildcats FC programs will be coached by professional coaches with welcomed assistance of our volunteer assistant coaches and team managers.

Consider obtaining a National Grassroots Soccer Coaching License.

All coaches must be background checked by the City of Hollywood. Additionally, our coaches get background checked by FYSA annually and receive Concussion Training/Certification and SafeSport training annually, bi-annually or as required by federal law.
