Recreational soccer at Wildcats consists of:
We need coaches for all age levels and you can participate and have a great time with your children. Anyone who is interested or wants to refer a friend, please contact us by email.
Registration and sign-up: All registrations are ONLINE. You will create an online ID for yourself using your email address, and create your own password. Make sure you remember your password, it makes it much easier later. If you are having technical difficulties please contact one of our volunteer Board Members at the Clubhouse.
Costs: Costs vary per season and range as low as $80 to as high as a $300 for various programs for Hollywood residents. The City of Hollywood requires of all sports clubs to collect a non-resident fee for those players that do not reside within the City limits (verification required upon request). You will be charged additional $20 non-resident fee.
Player Year of Birth divisions: The player’s birth date determines what age division he/she plays in. No players can play up or down. It’s all determined by the year they were born in. New US Soccer mandates were implemented starting with the Summer of 2016. Additionally, when we break teams into multiple ages (ie. U8, U10, U12 etc.) they might be same “soccer age” for more than one year.
Equipment: All players must supply their own cleats, practice clothing, shin guards, and ball. The club provides jersey or complete uniform depending on the particular program.
Ball sizes for each age group: Soccer balls come in different sizes for each age group, and it’s important to buy the correct size ball for your child:
- U8 players and younger use a Size 3 ball
- U10 and U12 players use a Size 4 ball
- U13 players and older use a Size 5 ball
Balls, shinguards, and practice jerseys are available for purchase at the concession stand. No shin guards = NO PLAY!
Professional and Volunteer Coaches
Director of Coaching, Mauro Tavars, has an outstanding training program available for new and veteran coaches. Hollywood Wildcats FC also provides professional coaching assistance to our volunteer coaches and our players on a rotating basis.
All coaches will learn new techniques on how to coach soccer and teach our youths the game the right way. Whether you are a seasoned coach or just new to the program, this program will be extremely beneficial. The Coaches Training Schedule will be announced at the end of Summer.
Consider obtaining a National Grassroots Soccer Coaching License.
All coaches must be background checked by the City of Hollywood. Additionally, our coaches get background checked by FYSA annually and receive Concussion Training/Certification bi-annually.
